Sonik Mobility – Shipping, Returns & Charger Purchase Terms

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern shipping, returns, refunds and the purchase of electric vehicle chargers (“Chargers”) from Sonik Mobility (“Company”, “we”, “us”). By placing an order, you (“Customer”, “you”) agree to these Terms.

1. Shipping and Delivery

1.1 Service Territory

We ship Chargers across India through our logistics partners. International shipping is limited and subject to serviceability, carrier availability and applicable law.

1.2 Order Processing Time

  • Orders are generally processed within 1–2 business days after successful payment authorisation.
  • Processing timelines may be extended during peak periods, promotional events, force majeure events or system outages; such delays do not give rise to any right to damages or penalties.

1.3 Estimated Delivery Timelines (India)

  • Standard delivery across India is typically completed within 5–7 business days from dispatch.
  • Delivery timelines are estimates only and may vary by location, carrier performance and local conditions; time is not of the essence for delivery.

1.4 International Shipping

  • International shipping, where offered, will attract additional shipping, customs, duties and import taxes as applicable in the destination country.
  • The Customer is solely responsible for payment of all customs duties, taxes and regulatory charges levied at the destination; delays due to customs or authorities are outside our control.

1.5 Failure of Delivery / Incorrect Address

  • You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address and contact details.
  • If delivery fails due to incorrect/incomplete address, repeated non-availability, or refusal to accept shipment, we may: (a) cancel the order and refund the product amount after deducting two-way shipping, handling and any applicable charges, or (b) reship at your cost, at our discretion.

1.6 Risk and Title on Shipment

  • Risk of loss or damage to the Charger passes to you on delivery at the address specified by you or hand-over to your designated representative/carrier, whichever is earlier.
  • Title to the Charger passes to you only upon full and final receipt of cleared payment by the Company.

2. Installation and Compliance

2.1 Installation Responsibility

  • Unless explicitly agreed in a separate written installation contract, you are responsible for arranging installation of the Charger by a qualified electrician or installer in accordance with applicable laws, building codes, utility requirements and safety standards.
  • We may, at our discretion, provide installation support through authorised partners, but such support is subject to separate scope, charges and terms.

2.2 Standards and Regulatory Compliance

  • Our Chargers are designed to adhere to IEC 61851 and IS 17017 parts as applicable; you are responsible for ensuring that site wiring, MCBs, RCCBs, earthing, and upstream infrastructure comply with applicable standards and utility norms.
  • We are not liable for damage, fire, shock, performance issues or hazards arising from improper installation, non-compliant wiring, inadequate earthing, over-loading, voltage imbalances, surges, or local site conditions.

3. Order Placement and Payment

3.1 Accepted Channels

Orders for Chargers may be placed through:

  • Our official website and/or mobile application;
  • Authorised distributors, dealers and channel partners; or
  • Directly with authorised Company sales representatives.

3.2 Payment Terms

  • Unless stated otherwise in a written agreement, 100% payment is due at the time of order.
  • We may support multiple payment methods (UPI, net-banking, cards, wallets, EMI) through third-party payment processors; their terms, including any payment failures, chargebacks and limits, will apply.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order in case of suspected fraud, pricing or stock errors, KYC concerns, or regulatory restrictions; where payment has been taken, we will refund the amount for the cancelled order.

3.3 Revenue Disbursement for CMS/App Usage

  • Where you use our charger with Sonik’s CMS and app in a revenue-sharing model, revenue (post agreed deductions, taxes and fees) will be disbursed on a monthly basis within 15 days from the end of each calendar month.
  • Detailed commercial terms, commissions, settlement cycles and chargeback handling will be governed by the separate Host/Partner Agreement and not by these Terms.

4. Return and Refund Policy (Charger Hardware)

4.1 Standard Return Window

  • You may request a return of a Charger purchased directly from us within 30 days from the date of delivery (“Return Window”).
  • After the Return Window, returns are not accepted except in cases of confirmed manufacturing defect covered under warranty.

4.2 Return Eligibility Conditions

To qualify for a refund under the Return Window, all of the following conditions must be met:

  • The Charger is unused, uninstalled and in “as-new” condition.
  • Original packaging, labels, manuals, accessories, mounting hardware and any bundled items are intact and returned.
  • Proof of purchase (invoice/order confirmation) is provided.

We reserve the right to refuse returns or impose a restocking fee (up to a reasonable percentage of invoice value) where items show signs of use, installation, damage, missing parts, or tampered serial numbers.

4.3 Return Process

  • To initiate a return, contact our customer support (details below) within the Return Window with your order details and reason for return.
  • Upon preliminary approval, we will provide instructions for pick-up or drop-off; packaging the Charger safely for transit is your responsibility.

4.4 Inspection and Refunds

  • Returned Chargers are subject to inspection and testing at our facility or by an authorised service partner.
  • If the product is approved as eligible for return, refunds will be processed within 7–14 working days to the original payment method or to a credit wallet, at our discretion, subject to banking timelines.
  • If the product fails inspection (signs of use, damage, improper installation, missing items, etc.), we may reject the return and ship the product back to you at your cost or offer a partial refund, at our sole discretion.

4.5 Non-Returnable Items

The following are non-returnable except where mandated by applicable law:

  • Chargers that have been installed, commissioned, or used.
  • Products damaged due to mishandling, improper storage, water ingress, fire, accident, or electrical faults at the installation site.
  • Customised, specially configured, or made-to-order Chargers.
  • Software licences, subscriptions, CMS/app access fees and other intangible services.

5. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items on Arrival (DOA)

5.1 Notification Period

  • If your Charger is delivered damaged, visibly defective on arrival, or incorrect (wrong model/specification), you must notify us within 7 days of delivery.
  • Beyond this period, issues will be treated under warranty and not as transit damage or DOA.

5.2 Required Documentation

  • Provide order details, serial number, clear photographs/video of the product, packaging and damage, and a description of the issue.
  • We may request additional information, testing or site checks to differentiate logistics damage from installation or site-related issues.

5.3 Resolution Options

Subject to verification, we may, at our sole discretion:

  • Arrange repair or field service (where feasible);
  • Replace the Charger with the same or equivalent model; or
  • Refund the invoice value of the affected Charger.

No additional compensation (for downtime, travel, towing, business loss, etc.) will be payable for DOA or damaged items beyond repair/replacement/refund as set out above.

6. Warranty (Summary)

6.1 Warranty Period and Scope

  • Chargers are covered by a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase, unless otherwise specified in the product-specific warranty card.
  • Warranty provides repair or replacement (at our discretion) of defective hardware components; it is not an on-site service guarantee unless expressly stated.

6.2 Warranty Exclusions

Warranty does not cover, among other things:

  • Physical damage, cracks, dents, broken enclosures, or damage due to mishandling, accident, vandalism or rodents.
  • Damage due to improper installation, wrong wiring, absence of earthing, undersized cables, incorrect protective devices, water ingress at site, corrosion, or non-compliance with installation guidelines.
  • Damage or failure due to grid issues, voltage fluctuations, phase imbalance, surges, lightning, or other power-quality problems.
  • Normal wear and tear, cosmetic issues not affecting functionality, or consumables.
  • Use with unauthorised accessories, modifications, tampering, or opening of the enclosure by unauthorised personnel.

6.3 Warranty Procedure

  • Warranty service must be requested through our customer support with proof of purchase, serial number and fault description.
  • We may provide remote diagnostics first; if needed, you must ship the product to our service centre or make it available at site as instructed.

The detailed warranty terms published with each product form an integral part of these Terms and will prevail in case of any conflict.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 Service “As-Is” and No Performance Guarantee

  • Chargers and related software, CMS and app services are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis without any guarantee of uninterrupted operation, specific charging speed, compatibility with every EV, or continuous network availability.
  • Actual charging performance may vary based on vehicle BMS, grid conditions, cable quality, ambient temperature and other third-party factors.

7.2 Exclusion of Certain Damages

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Company or its directors, employees, agents or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary or consequential damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profit, revenue, business, or anticipated savings;
  • Loss or corruption of data;
  • Loss arising from EV downtime, towing, alternate transport, or loss of opportunity.

7.3 Cap on Liability

Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, the total aggregate liability of the Company, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, shall be limited to the amount actually paid by you for the Charger giving rise to the claim.

7.4 Customer Responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring:

  • Safe installation and use of the Charger;
  • Compliance with local electrical and building regulations;
  • That charging is carried out in accordance with vehicle manufacturer instructions and our user manual.

We shall not be liable for losses arising from your failure to follow such instructions and obligations.

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Chargers, embedded software, firmware, CMS, mobile application, user interface, documentation and any related materials are and shall remain the exclusive property of the Company or its licensors.

No rights or licences are granted to you except for a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Charger and accompanying software strictly in accordance with these Terms and the applicable end-user licence terms.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

9.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.

9.2 Jurisdiction

Subject to any mandatory consumer protection provisions, the courts at Delhi, India, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms and the purchase or use of Chargers.

9.3 Amendments

We may revise these Terms from time to time by updating this page. The version in force at the time of your order will govern that order, unless changes are required by law.
